Duties

Gather information related to federal laws and the laws of other states with respect to regulation of artificial intelligence.

Review attempts at the federal level to preempt state regulation of artificial intelligence.

Consider statutory protections for children against artificial intelligence harm.

Consider statutory prohibition of external artificial intelligence designed to or showing signs of exceeding human control.

Review the development of data centers and the drivers of data center investment and siting.

Consider the economic and other relevant state and local interests in siting of data centers, including the impact relating to water and electric consumption.
